Yoga is an inclusive word. It is a word that describes a proccess and so it is dynamic. The process of paying attention moment by moment to the changing and unchanging aspects of reality. The postural practice of yoga allows us to shape ourselves and face our reality, by noticing the patterns that arise in different shapes/frames.
To me it is an art of paying attention and reminding myself of my choice to pay attention with a firm foot in reality, with love and a content heart.
This means witnessing reality for a moment before i do anything to change it.
This fosters humility deep within me and allows me connect more deeply with myself and others. this is sometimes pleasant and sometimes unpleasant. this receptivity allows me to receive reality with a gesture of heartiness, this invokes the “mantra” this too is for the good- Gam Zu Litov.
Below I have shared a 30 min practice for connecting with our core and the ground. My hopes are that is fosters a sense of ease and curiosity as we face and get our foot in the door of our personal felt reality, in the larger context of life.
